Brooklands - 29th July - Directions and Instructions
Dear All,
Brooklands is very much on for Sunday 29th July.
The Austin Healeys who will be autotesting and hill climbing will be there from 10am to 5pm. I plan to be there all day.
You will need to come in the public entrance and I think it is around £10 for a car and occupants. This gives you access to the full Brooklands facility.
The plan is to join the Healeys and park in the 'Other' area, will confirm tomorrow.
In the meantime, please see the attached Link for directions and more information on Brooklands.

Everyone,
at the final organisers meeting the Parc Marshall was being ambivalent about allowing Scoobs in the the Classic Sports Car section!
To save any potential embarrassment can we please form an orderly arrangement in the public car park.
Excellent.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
Cheers,
Trout

Nice to see you all today! Those healeys were loud, the hill climb was interesting... shame they would let us do it

Good to see you guys (and girl!).
I feel that although Austin Healy club had a slightly better turnout than us
I'm sure we would have got more air than them at the end of the hillclimb!
Still, I hear at least one Subaru was spotted on the old banked circuit.
I can't say who it was of course, but lets just say there is something very different about his steering wheel compared to our cars......
Neil.

Always a man to plough his own furrow.
It was a very nice day - all we needed was one of those picnic hampers strapped to the back of the Scooby and we could have passed for a Healey.
The fastest I timed on the hill was the MG Racing car, just under 9 seconds. I reckon a decent Scoob could have done it in less than 5 (yes and then taken air at the top
Dr Evil - so does that mean it's free; or does it mean I will merely have to rely on my wit, charm and animal magnetism

Hi Guys,(and Gal)
Good to meet you all (if only briefly)
Sorry that we shot off in a different direction but I had 2 very excited kids in tow that wanted to climb in/over/on anything and everything
.
Since I live so close to Brooklands and interested in both the racing and aircraft heritage, I'm surprised that I've not been sooner. Excellent day out. Shame there wasn't more of us.
Anyway, top moment of my day was that, despite a nice MY01 (that my wife wants) and a number of Sti's, the young lady (sorry, can't remember names, memory like a sieve
) wanted my tatty old MY98 5dr

What a great day, it's good to take time out to chill occasionally (if that's possible in 30deg heat). The condition of some of the Healeys was truly outstanding, as was the girl with the leopard skin bikini. Wow!
A nice day with good company in historic surroundings, the banking is unbelievable. True respect is owed to the guys who hurtled around those walls all those years ago. Thanks go to the Austin Healey owners too for organising the day, although it was a shame that we weren't allowed a couple of demonstration runs up the test hill. There was plenty of grass at the top to recover the car after launching over the brow.

her - nothing to look at, but he was driving that porche!
me - so I need a porche then do i..(brain not engaged)
her - (evil look + slaps me accross the back of the head)
me - something i said?

I too saw "Pebbles", well part of her anyway

My girlfriend commented on how ridiculous she looked in hiking boots; "how stupid, has she got cold feet or something?" was the quote.
Unfortunately I never got down as far as her feet....
