Mercedes World @ Brooklands - Smarts 10th Birtday Party, I went
Anyone else been?
We went and saw.... my thought...
What a day out.
started at 7:50am at Smart of Nottm, thanks to them for free bacon cob
Drove down... what a nightmare with the weather and traffic.
Got to Merc World nearer 1pm than 12noon.
My only moan, next year I drive down on my own and not convoying, very dangerous and people get lost. Also we got there too late for me as everything closed up about 5pm.
We missed the voting for the 'show' cars as we had a good hour or so in main show room looking at the new and old cars. Very interesting too to go into the lovely cinema and watch a 20min film about Mercedes and Brooklands, only 6 of us were in there to watch the 2pm showing
Just a shame there wasn't a bit more to see outside.
By the time we had a walk round a lot of the 'show' cars had already gone.
We didn't get time to go to the brooklands museum either, but I'd do that another tie time. Or go down earlier next year.
Good to catch up with old friends and see a couple of new faces.
Does make you wounder if we should all have T Shirts with our names on next time LOL
Maybe next year they could park cars by model and colour in a big field then take one of these helicopter photos of everything?? Tht would look good.
On the whole a well organised even and thanks to Merc+Smart UK for their hospitality.
Didn't take a lot of pix, as you've all seen Smart cars before, but some of the cars in the show room were worth a picture
MY BROOKLANDS PIX HERE.... CLICK AWAY
Now... where does one find £108k for a SL. or £350k for a Maybach?
Apart from my little moan earlier... Jo and I had a great day out.
