Default tig welder

Can anyone recommend a small tig welder? Ive been looking on ebay but theres so much **** on there im not going to risk it.

Im looking to spend around 300 quid

Try searching for Sealey, Clarke or SIP.
They are decent for the money and at the more affordable end of the spectrum.

For 300 quid for a TIG welder you're stuck with what you can find on eBay, and you wont be able to find an AC/DC tig either - it will be DC only (i.e steel alloys only - not aluminium).

Having said that, if you're a hobby user, then a chinese cheapo tig will do you just fine, IMO - just make sure you get one with HF start.
