We work "with" them sometimes - and I agree.

Even little local BBC radio station presenters think they are all Jeremy Paxman.

I've lost all respect for the BBC, long before this.

As one of the morning DJ's said some years back, on being asked how he thought he could get away with talking for 75% of the time instead of playing music, "Due to the unique way in which the BBC is funded...I can....LOL".

Time to make the barsterds pay their way.

The BBC are a disgrace, I can't believe we legally have to pay towards that hard-left liberal drivel just for owning a TV set. Sooner the licence fee is scrapped the better.

Can you be both 'hard left' and 'liberal'?

I think you see what you want to see

Nothing's changed. If you ever have to have your hearing abused by the sycophantic banality of Steve Write, you'll note most of his show is taken up by constantly playing jingles. Only interupted by brainless self congratulatory nitter-natter and the odd song.

Don't mind SW...he's on R2 now and that's for us oldies anyway

The DJ in question was on R1, it was Chris Moyles.
Clarkson says it too........

Utter gits, both of 'em.

Wrighty's ok. I don't mind his banter and I quite like TOTP2. As above Chris Moyles is a grade A ****. I still chuckle at the late John Peel's comment when he found out Moyles was joining R1. 'I felt like grabbing some dynamite and taking us both out!'

I'd hardly call finding out Cliff's house was being raided as part of an investigation int child sex offenses a "Scoop"

After all, it was hardly a surprise..

Next time he's on, get a stopwatch and time how much "feed in" music and jingles he plays as well as adverts for other BBC radio shows.

It probably works out as 75% padding and 25% actual "proper" music. And thats if you ignore the contant playing of Maggie Reilly, Quarterflash, and Focus.

Yeah. I should have said Mike oldfield, but that's unfair as I like his other stuff - Moonlight Shadow is the ONLY Mike Oldfield track they play...and they KEEP on playing it. FFS give it a rest.

Where did I say I listen to it? I don't watch Coronation St either, but I know it's utter garbage!

Our radio is on top of a shelf 10ft in the air. It has no dial...Its a 1970s Beocentre. And because its not mine, I get shouted by an old duffer if I dare get a ladder to go and re-tune it, even though he spends most of his time in a office out of earshot of it.

Not that there is anything much to re-tune it to, as the alternative varies from mildly annoying to highly irritating. Did try using a FM transmitter plugged in the laptop to pick up some internet radio, but the WiFi keeps dropping out (the router is also 10ft in the air).

Haven't listened to him since his 80's SWITA show.

His characters used to make me crack, esp. Mr Angry from Purley and Dr Fish-Filleter with his fishy fingers-based innuendoes, etc.

You don't have to pay it if you don't want to.....It's civil law not common and they can't enforce it. It's more for receiving live stream tv. You can own a TV and not buy a license. They can't gain access to your property to check and their equipment cannot prove beyond doubt that you are receiving live television. It's all a bunch of BS!

You can get taken to court and non payment results in imprisonment. They can get a court order to gain entry to your house too. Be careful in following this advice

You can only be sentenced to prison for non-payment of any fine imposed by a court, not for failure to pay the license itself. No private company or individual can gain access to your property without your permission. Warrant or otherwise. Access to a property by force isn't legal and the Police cannot allow that to take place. Under Common Law they are there to keep the peace. How exactly is a TVL/Capita officer to gain enough evidence to get a signature from a judge (and only a judge not a civil servant) on a warrant on a civil case like that. People are wising up to it.......

Youtube search Television License Goons. Plenty of folk sticking two fingers up at that corrupt bunch of twots. One guy even successfully argued them out of court citing the Terrorism Act.

I pay mine but purely because I have to put my family ahead of my own pig-headedness where that sort of thing is concerned.

Edited to add

The warrant is the sticking point. They never seem to execute them correctly hence the resistance from people.
