Long story short is that someone who once rented (2009) a flat in my block left a transit van in the yard. Since then the bloke has said he'll remove it but never has. He's had several "last warnings" but has similarly ignored them. The guys in the flats are pretty gentle folk and not up to dealing with p-takers. Bloke also owes some money to one of the flat owners.

So...

I don't know this bloke (before my time) but I am more than happy to hook it up to the RRS and drag it out onto the street and leave it there. On the other hand, if we could sell it for scrap, then that flat owner might get some of their money back.

We have the keys
Its been abandoned on our property for 5 years plus (last tax disc)

How can we scrap this & get some money for it?

Or should we just dump it on the street and let Lewisham Council deal with it?

Phone the local police. Say it has no tax. Leave it in the street, it will be scrapped. Trying to sue the bloke will be a fruitless exercise

can you not just phone a scrap merchant and ask if they will remove it and give you some money lol - either that start stripping it.
