Default Don't let Britain First hijack the poppy!

Good article in The Telegraph:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/w...-let-them.html

Stop them before they do to the poppy what the NF and BNP did to our national flag.

There's always one, innit? <shakes head side to side in slow speed>

Good possibility of them seeing their backside, like the previous likes of them did.

From the Wiki' page:

Britain First stood candidates for the 2014 European elections in Wales[30] and Scotland.[31] It encouraged English supporters, in the absence of a Britain First candidate, to instead vote for the English Democrats or the UK Independence Party, while warning against voting for the BNP.[32] The party came 8th of 11 in Wales, with 6,633 votes (0.9%),[33] and 7th of 9 in Scotland with 13,639 votes (1.02%). In Scotland, it performed better than the BNP.[34]
Interesting alliance.

It's not irrelevant. Right-wing rags like the Telegraph (or the Torygraph as it's sometimes known) don't print left-wing propaganda pieces. Which elements of the article do you contest?

I wouldn't say I contest it, just the language and phrases used and the insinuation "the poppy" is being exploited because its on a badge.

But it is being exploited by a gang of fascists in the most cynical of ways; I've thought it for a while. Do you have sympathy with Britain First?

The thing is, Warren, if you're just to the right of Genghis Khan, everyone appears to be a 'leftie'!

And vice versa obviously. It all seems to depend on what rag/website/news channel you are being brainwashed by.

Whether the politics are left or right is largely irrelevant, the point is that the Telegraph like nearly all the British media is becoming a purveyor of sensationalist nonsense!

I'm genuinely and i must add pleasantly surprised that you out of all people have posted this.

Two flags to me appear repulsive and vulgar and immediately send out warnings of impending morons.

The first is the flag of St George and the second being the Palestinian flag.

This summer the going ons in Palestine got people noticing and rightly so. However a small number of 'innits' decide to adorn the flag and get upto all sorts of moronic crap. I remember a load of idiots harassing a police Corsa and breaking the window to it then chanting 'free, free Palestine'. Ultimately they have muddied the Palestinian flag and tared it with an undeserved reputation.

As for the cross of St George the EDL done what Anjem Choudhury Plc could only wish to do. They have likened the flag of St George with mornonish, thuggish and just damn stupid behaviour. I find the **** Swastika less repulsive.

Groups like BF are trying to hijack any cause that involves 'military' because in their warped mind the wars of the world are wars with Islam itself. Obviously the Muslims who died in the world wars fighting for the allied forces don't appear on the BF radar for one reason or another. It is a shame that the poppy is going to be the next thing to be dragged through the mud. I really hope they do not succeed.
