Default "O J" Pistorius

Sentencing begins today.

So what do you reckon?

Could be 1 week community service, say polishing artificial limbs, to 15 years hard labour.

Personally I would like to see him swinging from a rope

He certainly should be banged up

Time to reflect on his obsession with firearms

I think once the lawyers put the testimony of the witnesses in doubt - although lots of shouting and screaming just before a gun shot is arguably pretty tough to mistake - they would never get him on full blown murder. Or if they went for murder he'd get off on appeal. I think the judgement was the only sound one that would stick 100%.

He has to serve time though - I'm sure thats part of the deal. He has to be seen to do some time. If not then yeah, its just a complete pi55 take.

The longer this sentencing goes on the more farcical it becomes. Justice for Reeva Steenkamp looking more and more unlikely as the focus of the court now seems to be how prison would affect Oscar Pistorius if he had to serve a custodial sentence. Pistorius could end up with some sort of house arrest and community service.

Who cares, if a trial of some no mark athlete in another country matters to you this much maybe you should pop down the 'life' shop and see if they have one for you!

I don't know which way it will go. I saw Sky programme on this case's court proceedings tonight. Nel argued well on Oscar's excuse of his disability to avoid jail.

They both still have the option of Appeal, I would guess the prosecution will over sentence being too lenient anyway.

10 months effectively is a joke sentence , by a joke judge in a joke of a country.
He murdered that girl and has got away with it.
Only bettered by Lord Lucan.

Lots of media interest for a "no mark athlete".

The verdict sits squarely on the fence.

Where the 10 months coming from though if they've given him a 5 year sentence?

Nel was trying to be smart there and then; straight after sentencing, but couldn't really clarify what he was going on about. He may now spend some time studying and then put forward a strong appeal. I hope so.
