You know the sort of things that I meen. Ridiculous phrases and metaphors. Lets see how many we can come up with.

"It's all smoke and mirrors."

"We're all dancing round the camp fire and nobody wants to pick up a potato."

"We just need to sell the sizzle, not the sausage."

"Go and look at it and we'll touch base tomorrow"

"Let's get our ducks in a row"

"Let me take a view on that"

"We'll roll with it and see what turns out"

I'll think of some more in a bit....

"Think outside the box" and
"Let's park that thought for now".
A few months ago, someone sent me a game of "Meeting Bingo" with loads of these on. Unfortunately I don' have it anymore.

Anyone who says "touch base" in my office is liable to an instant kicking before leaving through the window.

Makes me cringe just typing it.

Talking

Actual ones our PM uses:

"Lets push the boat out and see what comes back"

"We're behind the 8-ball here" eh?

and my personal favourite..........

"Our **** is out the window on this one"

He's got so many we started doing what we call "Barlow Bingo" in meetings (his surname is Barlow). First to get 5 phrases has to introduce on of his classics back into the meeting to indicate a "house" to the other competitors.
give it a try - great fun.
