Camera experts, i need some help deciding on a new camera.
I'm in the process of changing my current bridge camera, ive got it down to these 2 which are both made by Fuji.
HS50EXR
http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/d...nepix-hs50exr/
X-S1
http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/d...s1/?sword_list[]=x&sword_list[]=s1&no_cache=1
The HS50EXR has 16mp compared to the X-S1 which only has 12mp, the X-S1 has a bigger 2/3-inch EXR-CMOS sensor compared to the HS50EXR which has a 1/2-inch EXR-CMOS II sensor.
Out of the 2 which would be the better camera ? I like the X-S1 but 12mp seems low by todays standards, i'm not an expert so i'll leave that to other people who will know better.

The first seems better.. It's also cheaper.. For the price of the second one you'll be on your way to a DSLR.
I wouldn't worry to much about the MP.. They are only really if you want to blow the pictures up to massive sizes.. 12mp is enough although as you've said the first one has more anyway..
Also pay attention to the OPTICAL ZOOM and NOT DIGITAL ZOOM.
If it was my monies I would consider the first one or go onto a DSLR.
Good luck.

X-S1 would be my choice. Image stabilisation is great on cameras like this and it's unlikely you'll need more than a 600mm lens (that's a twelve times magnification). Don't get caught up in the battle for bigger megapixel count, 12Mp is plenty: I used to use a 3Mp camera and could easily print to A4. 7 frames a second is great for sports too. Seems a reasonable spec camera.

Thanks for the replies, ive been doing a bit more research into cameras, it aint half a head scratcher with so many different opinions on the net.
I may even get a DSLR yet, from what ive read and watched it seems as though a bridge camera with its smaller sensor will never reproduce the same quality as a full DSLR camera. Ive been looking at the Canon 650D which seems to get decent reviews as an entry level DSLR, i'm really open to any suggestions really, being able to record video would be a plus point.

I got a hs20 a while back ,, its great even though i dont really know how to use most of it but the exr button makes it all easy mostly
I went for the hs20 as it has a super massive zoom and the zoom is manually operated as i found the motorised ones a bit slow sometimes ,, ie at a place and wanna take a photo of a lion quickly but by the time you get the camera out the bag and turn it on then start to zoom in the lions walked off ,, manual zoom is just that bit quicker

Sensor size is more important than pixel count.
Having said that, the X-s1 is three years old now. Have a look at whatever reviews you can find online and concentrate on what matters most to you. Personally I'd be wary of a 42 x zoom from a quality perspective.
