Big Brother: tripe
#1
The creator of Big Brother should be running the country, and be paid a million pounds a second. Who the hell else would be clever enough to envisage that his creation would 1/ appeal enough for any sane television company to actually turn the initial hairbrained idea into reality and 2/ believe that a nation of so called sensible people can actually sit down and WATCH this garbage as a means of actual entertainment?
I am watching Big Brother as I type. It is on in the background. So far, some bloke has hoovered the carpet, another has sat outside and had a ***. A few members have done a little cooking, and one guy has got a little uppity because the sugar has ran out. Now a woman has decided to leave the house for some reason or another. All of these things have happened to me in real life today, at work and at home. Riveting stuff, I’m sure you will agree.
This is now the forth episode I have ever watched. I didn’t bother with the opening series, until the Nasty Nick hype hit the headlines. Thinking I was about to witness a memorable piece of TV history, I tuned in impatiently to see what was happening. Nothing happened. Nothing. I never watched another episode of Series 1.
I actually managed 2 episodes of Series 2, both forced by being in the wrong place at the wrong time ( a female friends house: “Ooh, we must watch Big Brother!”). In one episode, a bloke hurt his leg. In another, the housemates cooked some pasta. Fantastic.
And I can’t believe that real people pay good money to hook up to the internet, and sit on their **** while watching people sit on their ****. Unbelievable.
Several million people must have incredibly sad lives, or no friends, or no hobbies, or too much time on their hands. Most are probably a combination of all these things. Many of which are about to flame me, no doubt. J

I never watched the first series - not once and didnt believe the hype at all. I watched the second series from the start as Id just upgraded to digital and got E4 and could not get enough. This series does seem a little boring so far as people are trying to portray the image they perceive will give them a better change of winning rather than being themselves. I also think that they havent put enough different aged people in and people with different personalities so that they clash. Bar Sandy and Lynn this year they are all really young so seem to have a lot in common.
It is weird how u sort of get addicted to it - but people get addicated to soaps, sports etc so its an expected progression. Its just the fact that you are watching people do what you do every day in your life that makes it appealing.
I think Survivor is the best of this new breed of "people programs" (well until it finished). Over 1.5 million people voted last night so they must have some awesome viewing figures.

Never watched it myself - I'm sure the attraction was because they said they had cameras everywhere. Bet half the viewers are sad blokes shouting "Come on, lets see her in the shower" at the telly

Watched the first and the second series and every episode of this series so far.
It is the kind of thing that you think "Why would I want to watch that?" so you watch it to see what the interest is and with series 1 and 2 I have to admit I was hooked.. dunno why...
I have not been hooked by this series and everyone is so boring..
it is starting to lose it's appeal, I shall keep watching in the hope that it picks up and ride on the vibe from the other series,
for a bit but I think it is losing it's appeal.
I am not going to flame anyone, although I might be flamed.
Everyone is entitled to there own opinion which is sometimes forgotten on this BBS.

We ended up watching the first series because my wife was seriously ill , and so had to be on bed rest. We ended up watching it 'cos there wasn't much else to do. After a while of slating it as 'trash' we ended up getting hooked - I think it was the first eviction that caught our attention.
Last year I vowed not to watch it, as it's a load of old codswallop. 3 weeks in and I was hooked again.
This year I was absolutely certain I wouldn't go near it, but after watching Angus Daeyton's ridicule on HIGNFY, switched over and there it was. Instead of turning it off, we watched to see what this year's 'contestants' would be like, and have since caught a couple of other episodes.
It's strangely compelling viewing - particularly the psychological analysis - and makes for a great 'no-brainer' when winding down late at night. Okay, so it's not mentally taxing, but sometimes that's what you want from a TV show (hey - I like You've Been Framed for chrissake ).
It usually only gets you hooked a few weeks in when the chaff's been ditched, but being a nosey person who enjoys listening in on other peoples' conversations, it's just perfect for me.

Luke,
Rather strange that Sinita is clearly intelligent but has she no common sense?
Surely she knew what she was getting into, so how come she is leaving saying she needs her own space and I cannot get on with anyone... she didn't even bl00dy try....
She should have got on with it and made the most of it..
As to this "It might harm my career" bollox.. you just watch what you say and no harm done..
I don;t think she is sexy at all but each to there own...
Kate.... in those hot pants last night!! hubba hubba...

PS: Oh no I am even talking about it on Scoobynet now..... doh!

Guys
Kate used to work in my place and she is fit.
Had the pleasure of seeing her in all different types of clothes in the past.
Reckon she`d look better out of them though
Regards

A friend of mine has even gone to the trouble of doing her own fan site. She's a nice girl but bloody sad!

If you ever watch natural history programmes, and then big brother the similarity to apes is amazing! A troupe of baboons behaves very similarly - grooming, flirting, selective bonding, squabling over food, non partner females being possesive etc etc
Call me sad, or an anthropologist!
D Attenborough!
