One assumes that the train builder built the trains to the specification in the order, but french rail c@cked up hence modifying platforms

Incredible, if you take into account that their loading gauge is bigger than ours anyway.

What WERE they thinking?

But will anyone's head roll for it? Doubt it.

Just done a little research.

Apparenetly there are TWO loading gauges (maximum train sizes) in France, one for the main lines, one for lightly used lines.

SNCF have been after their equivalent of Network rail for years to upgrade the lighter lines, but have been fobbed off.

NOW their equivalent of NR HAVE to do something about it and government will help.........

So........you COULD make it up.......... Or someone has been very clever.

yes - I have heard it is slightly more complicated than being reported in the press

i.e. they knew the size of the train was too large for the smaller little used stations

the actual failure is not having done anything about it - maybe politics playing a part - someone is forcing the issue

I thought you didn't have enough time to do any research?
