He is an a£$e and I'm glad he's gone because he did lie but when, oh when, is someone going to stay in the job long enough to come up with, and see through, a decent transport strategy?

...and of course, the replacement will say, it's not *my* fault, I've got to clean up the mess Byers left behind. It'll take me until the next election just to reverse the damage he did so we won't be able to improve things until after you vote us back in....

It makes you wonder what dark secret lurks in President Tones past that enables the likes of Byers, Vaz, Mandelson & the rest to keep their jobs for so long!

Was he framed though? It looks highly suspicious that Byers was the one to "leak" the news about the referendum on the euro and as soon as the news hit the press, the govt denied it point blank leaving a certain individual who already had a slightly tarnished reputation, swinging in the wind. Food for thought.
He had to go. Perhaps he and Mandleson should set up a partership?

Won't make much difference. The country is pretty much run by Tony's appointed advisors, elected MPs have very little say in anything any more. I think it's his way of getting us used to being governed by the EU.

Typical of this govt, they sack him and cover up some other bit of news they dont want leaked to divert us from what was going on !! It still dont fix the problem of **** trains / roads etc etc etc. All theyve done by getting rid of this ***** is to delay the process even more - hence giving them the excuse they need to continue to **** it all up

He kept his job for lying about Sixsmith, but loses it for telling the truth on the Euro referendum. This event defines the term 'ironic'...
Also outrageous he couldnt drive; how can that make him qualified to comment let alone legislate!
