The pvr5 is what you have already and the pvr4 is the older box out of the three

The 2tb wireless is the best box and latest box sky have to offer. Only thing sky took the rf ports off but if you have a link magic eye you can get hold of an adaptor .

It's a very nice box .

The latest box is actually pvr5 but wireless and it's that they have taken the rf outlet off to make way for the wireless and the adaptor you need is a IO link (rrp £25)
Also not wanting to interrupt your fs but I've heard problems with the 2tb but don't know if it was a small number affected. (bloody nice looking boxes though)

The problem was a full system reset as the wrong software was put on while in the factory . And yes your right a very small amount was affected

But my current box is only 160gb (according to the instructions) or is mine still a pvr5 and there just different memory levels ? use the RF2 to a booster in the roofspace which allows me to view sky on any tv thats connected to it.

What about the setting up of these boxes ?

You just need a OI link that replicates the rf again, setting up it manual/auto just like earlier boxes, just phone sky and tell them you've changed box and they will pair your viewing card with new box by giving box serial numbers etc.

Plug and play sounds like you have a pvr4 first hd + box sky .
When plugged in you can call sky or do it online to activet the box . Easy peezy

Can someone confirm that the 500gb PVR5 is the one that will do 5.1 over HDMI ?

Its either that or I buy an optical cable for mine.

Apologies for cluttering the FS thread by the way
