The pub which I managed to gatecrash a christening in along with three other embarrassed persons!!!!!!
It has a grass field where we can arrange to park, located on the A518 towards Uttoxeter.
All I need to do is email Brad to sort it, sound good?

Doesn't
large pub + weekend + summer = busy?
Not trying to put a downer on such an event, would be very
Michelle's idea is good 'un. A field next to a decent pub will save us taking up their entire car park. Mellow arranged us a seperate field in front of the pub for lunch on day one of the NCT - all the Scoobies looked great.

I've always wanted to get a BIG gathering ov scoobs together and I reckon it can be done.
Now on my enquiries, a few issues have come to light which in a nut shell point to the fact that big meet and drive = impossible to conduct safely and impossible to keep people together so i'm thinking BIG meet no drive.
Now that sounds initially like it would be really boring but I got thinking and thought "Sod it, scoobynet is as much about the social thing as it is about the driving thing so a meet is a meet"
So how can you help?
I need a venue that fulfills the following criterea (or is it criteri-ie? )
1) In the Midlands
2) BIG parking area (Grass or Tarmac)
3) Family type pub (Large)
4) Easy access
5) NOT the busiest pub in the Midlands on a Weekend Afternoon.
Suggestions for a venue, greatly appreciated, then once we've found one, i'll get on with dates and promotion
Fill ya boots dudes, ever looked at ya local and thought " Hmmmm 20+ Scoobs would look cool parked in here"

Mikey, talk to Kev & a few others first. I think a LARGE event would be a bit more than 20 Scoobs and a bit too much for your local pub!
We need an event to centre it around, something which will attract ANY scooby owner, not just the 'usual suspects'
LARGE means somewhere like Donnington etc. can we get something with a wide enough appeal to drag in the crowds?
The RS meet at Donnington may be a pointer, but you are unlikely to get the same amount of support that Ford give to such events.
TRAX seems to be the biggest event on the calender, and that is not even an all Scoob event.
Anyone any ideas on this????????????/

If you are talking a lot of cars and want to have some fun , hire Mallory Park for the day. I don't think it is prohibitively expensive. You get plenty of track time and marshalls are provided and they open the cafe. We did it about 3 years ago as a private test day for historic race cars. I think third party insurance was part of the package. Not sure if Mallory still do this but may be worth a phone call. And it is a surprisingly demanding circuit and a lot of fun. Probably have to be midweek though.

Mikey,
Can we ensure the grass in any such field is cut first. I have removed my lower heatshield and don't want to start a hooooge fire
Later,
Kev (also giving this topic some thought)
