Santa Pod RWYB Sun 25th anyone interested ?
Hi All
Finally got my car back with a working gearbox so fingers crossed it will last longer than 2 1/2 days this time. I have managed to get a few hours off work next weekend which will be enough to sneak down to Santa Pod for a few runs to see what she can do with over 300BHP.
So if you are not going oop norf to the Midland big one (you could do that in the afternoon) who fancies joining 555Rob and I down at the Pod next Sunday morning. Strip opens at 10am so need to get there just b4.
Normal admission is £10, plus one-off signing on fee of £15 for unlimited runs.
Check out all the details HERE !
Cheers

Hi Guys
As long as its not raining we are game on ! If its pi55ing it down we wont get a run so its a waste of time, so fingers crossed with the weather.
Where is the best place to meet everyone ?
Lets all meet on the first layby on the A14 where the M1 and M6 meet at 9.00am to move on at 9.15am. As long as there isnt a Q we should get into the Pod b4 10am and on the strip by 10.30am. There isnt a show so hopefully we should be ok.
If you are coming from the south let us know and we can meet you either at the Pod or enroute somewhere.
Any other prefered times or sugestions for meet up places are more than welcome.
Cheers

New meet up point !!!!!
All
I have changed the meet up point which now reads
Lets all meet on the first layby on the A14 where the M1 and M6 meet at 9.00am to move on at 9.15am. As long as there isnt a Q we should get into the Pod b4 10am and on the strip by 10.30am. There isnt a show so hopefully we should be ok.
As the M1 was the long route
Is this alright with everybody ?
Also Alan in his black STi might be joining us for a few runs
Cheers

Not long to go now and the car is running great (many thanks to Rob and crew), and the weather looks like its going tobe sunny so fingers crossed for Sun.
Some people say that sometimes the first layby is closed on the A14, if so we will use the 2nd one
Cheers

Me and Kazlo should be there by about 9.15 hopefully, we've got to drop someone off somewhere first. If we're any later we'll have to catch you up so which way will you be heading??

My day at the POD
Hi guys
Well what a great day (weather wise), Met at the A14 and with with just 3 cars in convoy and set off to the Pod at 9.20am.
arrived to find a huge Q waiting to sign on. Then joined the massive Q of cars waiting for the strip. Was it me or did it take an age to get from the back of the q to the front !
Well I managed 2 runs
1st run
Messed up the start using far to low revs as Rob sped away off the line like a cat with a firework up its ***, Managed to pull him back in down the straight and we crossed the line about 0.04 secs apart with a 13.7sec @104MPH run. Rob with just a number plate in front that pipped me at the post!
2nd run
We were stuck about 6 rows from the start line when lunch was called so stood around for a bit until some TV guys asked us for an interview. Finally the 1/2hr break which actually lasted 1hr started and we drew up on the line, reving around 5k and dropped the clutch and pushed on the throttle to find myself sitting just off the start line with a plumb of smoke behind me and the revs hitting the limiter, but no wheel spin !!! changed to second and belted off the line. Didnt bother to look at the time was just worried about my cooked clutch , apears I layed a few 2 many revs down and ended up slipping the clutch, ouch ! TV women turns round to Sausage fingers and said ' oh Neal didnt get a very good start !" No **** pedro. Had to retire due to other plans.
Very please with the car just my launch to sort out.
So looking for another run up to the Pod soon for some more runs.
Cheers
