Chance of a lifetime!!!!!!!
Now I have your attention , most of you know that I have a place in this year’s London Marathon given by the Royal Air Force Association but as ever there is a catch – I have to raise money for them. I have never run a marathon before so this is a personal challenge and I wouldn’t want you all to feel left out by not affording you the opportunity to support me in this venture. The RAFA have set a goal of £1500 that they would like me to achieve, personally I would like to exceed that, but that is only possible with the support and generosity of my family, friends and colleagues.
To date I have raised in excess of £1000 and I am now looking for that final push ahead of the marathon on 26 Apr 10. If you can afford some spare change or more I have the traditional paper forms that you can use to pledge money, or alternatively you can donate through my Justgiving website – www.justgiving.com/jonmcmahon .
If you want more info about the cause that I am supporting you can get the 2 minute spiel from me or look through their website here - http://www.rafa.org.uk/
BTW, the Battle of Britain Club is a part of the RAFA
Thanks in advance for your support

My target is sub 3.5 hours, but we'll see. All depends on the weather too, hopefully it won't be the scorcher it was last year.

Share my Pain
Did the last really long run of the training programme today, was not supposed to be at race pace and given all of the factors (no rest in the previous days, not water/supplements en route, the hills involved) all bodes well for me to beat my 3hr 30 target.
Here's the route and route card
Now for a curry and a few ciders

Big thanks to everyone who support my London Marathon attempt. I managed to complete the race in 2 hrs 23 mins (subject to confirmation of the official time) but **** me do my legs hurt. Total raised is somewhere in the region of £1500, but I'll take more after the event
