Thanks gents.
In answering some of your questions I damaged a valve at 170 mph which lead to the engine having a refresh last year.
The original RCM built engine covered 48,400 miles running over 500bhp throughout including 22,000 miles on 20% meths. Not bad when considering I do 5 days at Nurburgring every year, several track days, sprints and plenty of raggin' in general.
The engine has done about 6000 since the rebuild.
Yes it does bang and pop without even trying
under 9 minute lap (Bridge to Gantry) of The Ring this year (going on 888's next year).
Scoobydoo Ste I'm sure your Mrs performs really well on all fours but so does mine, so I'll give that one a miss
Here's how it pulls ... check the speedo. Will do 197 mph at 8000 rpm in 6th but runway wasn't long enough
Some of you may of see the vids but I guess there are some that haven't.

Thanks for the video links matey - awesome machine! The sheer acceleration and power in that runway run video was immense! You'd never tire of driving that let alone standing beside it and looking at it!

Thanks guys.
It was the first Jap I ever bought and when I bought it, it was running at 310 bhp and handled like a dream. I knew if the thing had a heap more power and had the correct set up it would be a fantastic thing to drive.
The most important thing was to keep it looking as nice and original as possible so I booked it in RCM and they basically done a fantastic job. Triple plate clutch, 6 speed box, adjustable coil overs (40 settings per corner), big brakes bla bla.
It cost me a lot of money but it was worth every penny. I still love the car after owning it for 8 yrs and best of all I still get in it and think ***k this things quick. It's the power to weight bit that people overlook. Currently about 457 bhp per ton.
In the lanes the thing is mental.

I was running Hankook V12 Evo's. Great tyre for the P1 on the street and on track in the wet but need something softer for the ring like 888's.
Yes, engine same spec apart from now it's a 2.1 instead of a 2.0, new version of the Omega pistons and ditched the coil pack for new age ones.
They reckon there is a heap more power in it yet but it's okay as it is and well safe.

Stunning car... looks almost stock from the outside (which is the best way a P1 can look) but it's a true monster in the inside!! Must be a blast to drive in the track.
