Its a 53 plate facelift Civic Type R, only mod is a skunk2 gear ****. i've owned it for 2 years and this is my second Type R, absolutely love it but i'm getting that turbo itch. Anyway onto the pics.

almost, they are 197hp standard. but you've really got to be in the power band to get that, which once you get to vtec at 5800rpm its pretty good fun.
although after a while it gets a bit tedious hence the want to get a more of a lazy mans fast car, lots of low down grunt which you dont really have to work hard for.

completely different imo impreza feels more refined more comfortable where as the type r was more raw and i wasnt a fan of having to ring its neck to get any power of it but it all depends on your driving style i like to just cruise about and put my foot down now and then also impreza's are easier to get more power out of where as the civics are a pain even to map them your looking at ££££££ due to the ecu being locked also just to lower them on springs is a pain as you have to buy the camber bolt adjusters to straighten the rear lol

IMHO there is no comparison, they are like chalk and cheese, one feels like you want to rag the guts off it as it has no torque and the other you don't need to, you concentrate more on the drive if that makes sense don't get me wrong when your driving the civics on a "spirited" drive your on it, but driving a scoob in the same manner if you don't know how it drives will spit you out for breakfast, you can't be hitting bends at pace and lifting off the throttle like you can in the civic you have to be focused and committed and have faith in the car, once your use to driving a scoob you will see what I mean, the civic can be more forgiving under certain scenarios where as you need to be on top of your game when pushing hard in these I find, they may be 4 wheel drive but you still need to know how to drive one.
I liked the civic but given the choice of the 2 for a drivers car ( maybe not day to day given certain setups ) then I would pick my scoob any day of the week now

Yes! Previous to my Impreza I was from a honda background, had a b18 mk2 CRX, couple of DC2 type Rs etc.......so of course had to go for the Impreza Type R. The short ratio box and track focused ethos are certainly comparable, but the overall package is executed in a completely different way. I say go for the Impreza R
