As many of you hatchers know the rear lights that come standard are awful and look like a halfords special.

Today i have got around to spraying mine, i had the red reverse light in mine which annoyed me becuase its just more cost getting a clear so i did mine a little differently with some translucent red paint and lacquer.

BEFORE - I debadged her and these are the photos i took along with my mates 172. As you can see the red light looks strange if i was to add the film tint so what i did was my own little twist to overcome the problem

Love the thinking outside the box, I wonder though if you could remove the red reflector from the indicator unit to really make it a clean line?

Thank you all, as suggested by markfey i have added some before photos. the reverse/fog (im not sure which one it is) light which is red is left in the unit, you cant tell it was red now. Check the before photos.

The WHITE reverse light on the rear left...... a legal requirement at MOT etc.

so where is your WHITE reversing light now?

Rubbish you dont meed ANY reverse lights for a mot! Just remove the bulb as they could get funny about it being red

I was under the impression that if your car HAS a reverse light it must work on the car.

As some OLD cars have non anyway.

Yes that's part of it, Rear facing and must display a red lamp on the OSR

The in-car switch to turn the foglight on... MUST it have a red or orange light in it? Or not necessary?
