LOL at 17 he won't meet the criteria of being over 25 and at least one years experience of performance cars.

least you'll have a well polished car when you get to drive it... in a few years

standard or after-market suspension? yh it could make insuring it quite unrealistic with it being modified.. difficult enough as standard.

but either way she's very nice, always enjoyed them in black!

what brain wave did you have to go out and buy one before you've passed your test at 17.... and what were your parents thinking?

Even if you can't drive it for a while. Youwill have an appreciating classic if you keep it original. Insurance may be the issue but then your dad can always insure it and take you out.

I nearly bought one to go with my Mcrae and RB (But I'm over 50 :-) )

I would much rather this lad have it and keep it nice ready for when he does drive it, then someone else having it and covering it stickers, roof vents and dump valves! Look on tiger insurance or something like that for a quote, they're a comparison website but they gave me a great deal that no one could match/find.

A friend of mine did a quote for my P1, he was 18 with 1 years NCB.

The price?

£23,000 a year with an £1500 excess.

The car looks really nice, why not do a full nut and bolt restoration on it while you wait for the insurance to become cheaper?
