I too have an 08 Impreza. Mine's a 2.0 RX. Was begining to wonder if I was the only non WRX owner on here.

Very nice. It looks far more potent than what a 1.5l would suggest.
The non Turbos can be a bargain. I bought my 2.0 Hawkeye when it was 2 years old with 6,200 miles and paid £8000 for it.

Do they come with a 5 year warranty? I have just been on the Subaru website and did a search. The search function wasnt working but I did read that they came with a 5 year warranty now.

Thanks.
The dealership I bought this of said this is the only red Impreza they have sold.
Since I wanted an Impreza from their release in the early 1990's I alwayd wanted the wrx blue. Went to a dealer just for a look, saw this one & that was it, it came home with me.

With regard to power, it's not always about the poke, but the road holding.

Equally you could ask whats the point in a 1.6 Golf, Focus, Astra etc. Why not get the GTI, ST and VRX?
Purchase price, running costs, the lack of need to hare about all the time etc. Out of the alternatives I would take the Impreza every day, far more interesting to look at, own and drive, AWD and not every man and his dog has one. If it was me I would put it on the 'cool wall' for the above reasons whereas the WRX and STI versions I wouldnt.

All return superior combined mpg to the 1.5 so make valid sense IMHO. I maintain a 1.5 Impreza is pointless despite the OP's looking very nice indeed Even my sh1tty work car the 1.8 Turbo VRS can return the same MPG.

My mpg ain't good tho tbh when you think how hard the 15 has too work too push and pull that 1.7 ton worth of car around I get if I'm steady 40 mpg on motor ways and town driving I get about 27is but I Do have a exhaust strait thru from the cat . So might be why lol

Why thank you , worthy of the cool wall . What a compliment too the subaru . I do think its rather a good looking car . Think the rear lights need tinting red tho lol .

That's better than my inland 1.6 c max. The slight difference in MPG is a sacrifice I would be willing to make over the other 1.6 alternatives that make you look very uninteresting indeed.

Offset fairly promptly by far inferior reliability costs, especially where the Golf is concerned. I had a 1.2 Polo a few years ago that cost far more in ownership than my 2.0 Impreza. It was around 15mpg better but the list of repairs were longer than the proverbial arm.

How many steering racks have failed? My Mercedes rack failed and would have cost £1800 from the dealer but this is where the countless 3rd party parts and breakers come into it. They are a fractions of the price. Don't go to Subaru for parts and enjoy your car.

Oh dear, I thought you were speaking hypothetically as I've not heard of a steering rack going before. You mainly hear about the STI engine failures.
I bought mine off ebay for £450. A considerable saving off £1800. How much is the ebay one?

Tbh I don't think it went cos of a fault. I crashed my car this time last year causing lots of damage

So think that it got damaged then and over the year it's just got worse and just given in . So I can live with it as can't be helped . And I hit a curb with the black ice last year before you ask lol .
