Depends on the TT and size of it mate, I've had 2, I had a HKS type-1 mounted where the ashtray was on my bug, Then a smaller one which was fitted under the dash in my spec-c but I relocated it to the flip down compartment above the drivers right knee before I removed it completely as they are not really that necessary these days

i used mine on my old subaru to warm my car at work
just went out of work @ 16:50 set timer up for 7 mins (lock car) then when leaving work at 17:00 on the dot i could jump in and by the time i got off the car park i could drive as enthusiastic as i require
however i since changed my job and car and no longer do this or have a turbo timer

it was on the car when i brought it, i think its only wired in to work as a timer as none of the rpm, speed things work etc, is in just a nice subtle place if you only want the timer i thought

Using one to warm the car isn`t advisable either. There was a thread on here a little while ago, stressing the point about how much engine damage could be caused by running the engine while stationary on a cold morning. Much better (for the engine), starting up and driving off, being gentle with it until up to temp. Remember, the enginge oil might be warm but the other fluids aren`t (i.e. diff oil). Just a thought Anyway, I`ll wind my neck in now.
btw. I don`t use mine anymore now I`m `in the know`
