Spec C Back To The Future
Here are some pics of the latest look for my Spec C and it is has now gone nearly full circle and is very close to how it looked some time ago.
Gone are the WRC mirrors and front bumper and have been replaced by standard factory items, don't get me wrong I liked the WRC items but in retrospect I think the factory items look best.
I have also gone back to a standard STi bonnet scoop having tried:
Kakuemi reverse boonet scoop but could never get on with the looks.
HT Autos reverse vent again couldn't get on with the looks.
RCM carbon fibre reverse vent, brilliant and I loved it but there was an issue with the gel coat so it had to go back.
EMB reverse vent, I bought this second hand and it was a disappointment as vents all collapsed.
And now the wheels I have just fitted a set of Rays Volks CE28N and these wheels were in desperate need of a refurb when I got them, I had a member of SWS refurb them for me and Jarvis (Black-Hawk) has done a cracking job in BMW Sepang Bronze with a matt lacquer finish.
I will be replacing the Porsche GT3 coloured mirrors with standard WR Blue mirrors shortly, plus the odd red wheel nut as I lost a wheel nut and I'm trying to source a replacement rather than buy another set of 20.
Oh and the front bumper needs remounting as it is not sitting properly but apart from that, how it is now is how I plan on leaving it (for the moment anyway).

Thanks H, and it's the fastest colour for a Spec C.

Good so far, but I have only driven a couple of hundred miles on them plus I am bedding in some new front brakes so I really haven't given them a true test yet.
Thanks Jura.

Thanks, I'm fairly sure it'll be staying like this for a while anyway.
Thanks, I've still got the Inovit ST VI's I bought from you as an alternate set for when I'm bored with the Volks and winter use.
Mags, I don't suppose you can source Volks centre caps and Formula wheel nuts can you?
Very funny I seem to remember you were going spoilerless yourself with that bootlid you found?

Very nice Ty, OEM+ is the way forwards.
Bit of light dust of black over the intercooler for the "Its a plastic grille really" stealth look and you`ll be away.
But haven`t your mudflaps shrunk in the wash??

I agree on the intercooler, I had it chemically cleaned recently and despite my telling the company to re-paint it in black, they decided on silver for me. It's like the Ford Model T colour choice:
'You can have any colour you like, as long as it's black' just my choice was black and they give me silver. i
As for the mudflaps when I reverse out of my parking spot it's downhill and standard flaps will get caught under the rear wheels, and then get ripped off so I had to go for mini Kaylan flaps as a compromise. I'd love full size mudflaps but not at the expense of ripping them off now and again, plus damaging the rear bumper.

I forgot to say I have some coilovers going on shortly which should make it look more 'planted' and help the wheels fill the arched a little more.

The S202 wheels.
The CE28N's.
The CE28N's look much better in direct sunlight where you can see the bronze colour much better as the matt finish does dull the paint, but I like how the wheels look in differing light conditions.
I know what you mean about the spoiler but I might go back to the spoilerless look, I just have to find a good condition bootlid now...
