Default I just had an idea...
I don't even know if this would work, or be possible, as I'm not a mechanic... but...

(And I hope Dan Clark doesn't mind my pinching his picture to demonstrate what I mean!)

A brake disk has one caliper. Why not have TWO calipers, like I've put in my picture.

Would this increase stopping power? If not, why not?

If you wanted more bite, just over servo the one set of callipers. Two callipers would just lock up too.
Why not just have one single disc shaped pad pressed onto the disc to slow down?

In theory it probably could. just doesnt make sense when you can have a more than adequate single setup.

I was wandering the same thing a few days ago, but was told it wouldnt really work.

Would be better to just increase the amount of pistons on the single caliper.

If you had a 360 degree pad, consider the amount of heat which would build up where would it disperse to with a full caliper

Get some of these babies...

aston martian use 2 calipers on one disc but the smaller one of the 2 is for the handbrake only,looks well smart though

over servo?? explain any gains. why would you upgrade if you can mod?? etc

They are two 6 piston calipers machined together with a twin piston set-up in the centre to act as a parking break. crazy stuff! pointless, but crazy!!
