I didnt mean the pipes themselves i meant the huge hole in the wheel arch where the pipe comes through, seems a strange way to route it.

Really random question, but, are the side vents on your bonnet open or closed underneath?

I went for a drive with my mate who also has a version 1 sti today, and when looking at his engine, I realised that these vents were blocked, by what appear to be oem parts... like underneath covers for the vents.... in effect making them useless...
