Default New wheels on my wagon!

When i bought the car, 2 of the tyres were near the legal limit. Anyway, after shopping around for tyres, I ended up having a nosey on the Wheelbase website, where i've bought wheels from for my previous 2 cars. Decided i liked the look of BK 299's but they only had gold on the website.
Went down there this morning and they had a set of Anthracite 299's in stock and here's how they look on the car...

Ended up going for Toyo's again and i'm very happy with them so far. There's only a touch more than a gnats ***** between the calliper and the wheel but they've been fine. They're quite understated which is the look i was going for

I'm not a fan of golds on DBM car, the anthracite are a distinguished choice. Look very nice, but small, what size are they?

i mis-read that then and thought you were sayin disgusting, not distignuished

Anyway, cheers for your comment i like them. They're 17's, same as standard. They do look smaller than the standard wheels but it must be some kind of optical illusion as they are a bit busier (for want of a better word) than the standard wheels with their bigger openings. Or maybe the colour has something to do with it...

I was toying between white and anthracite for mine, and went with the hooligan option. It must be the style as if I was guessing I would even have said they were 16's. Great improvement over the originals all the same

yeah, i was thinking about going for something a bit more in your face but decided to go for the understated look. I held a gold 299 with polished lip up against the car and that actually looked bigger. My mind was already pretty much made up but i also reckon the anthracite ones will be easier to care for and hopefully a bit more rugged as they appear to be powder coated and aren't polished/chromed with a thin layer of laquer. The gold display wheel already had signs of crazing in the laquer due to people scrathing them slightly when trying them against their cars or just handling them badly in general.

I might be really odd, but I even like the orange bits on the front of the car too All my previous cars have been de-tangoed, going as far as replacing orange bulbs with mirror finish ones to avoid the fried egg look. But, for some reason, i quite like the orange on this.

I was hoping being quite tame looking would reduce the number of wannabe racers doing daft things to get past a nd prove a point in their 1.2 corsa with open drain pipe on the back.... It hasn't Good job i'm not very competitive.. i'd sooner get out the way and let them get on with driving like muppets

I know what you mean about chav racers. Coming back from the Ace Cafe a couple of weeks ago I had a micra crawling all over my **** through residential areas. I could boot it away from lights, roundabouts etc up to 30 and leave him for dead, but once I hit 30 and maintained that he'd try and climb into my boot
