Yep, she's getting tarted up over the next few weeks to try and tempt some of the 'summer' petrol heads.

Actually, the more I have done, the harder the decision to sell is becoming

Yeah, I can see why he might do that. EVO V is much cheaper and can therefore be modded on a tighter budget. The VI is supposed to be as raw as it gets in the EVO world. The VIII is becoming the modders car of choice as it is becoming cheaper to buy in the first instance. The MR version is pretty well sorted already IMO although any EVO can take 400bhp on standard internals....I've never been tempted personally

It was a toss up between this exact model and a Subaru STI for me and I eventually went with the Subaru but kind of regret it a little now

However, are all the rumours true about horrific servicing and maintenence costs on the MR models?

It depends what you mean by horrific?

The MR is no different to any other EVO in terms of servicing. The expense comes with the interval - they need fluids every 4.5k including the AYC fliud. So you are looking at about £250 everytime from a main stealer or £150 from a specialist. The 'big one' is done at 45000miles. It cost me £550 but I did have some other small bits done too.

From what I can tell, the STI is a tad slower, a tad more comfortable for everyday driving, a bit cheaper to run, but not quite as reliable. Mind you, there probably isn't much in it, and unless you are a pro-racing driver you probably wouldn't notice.

Jim

Its mostly for the reason(s) you said that I chose the STI. I do think the MR is a much more attractive car and not seen anywhere near as much on the roads

I am surprised by those costs as I had heard they were much worse but I suppose all cars of this nature require deeper pockets lol
