Cool

I was standing just out of shot to the right of the donut pics, getting it all on camera. You have never seen anything swap ends so quickly. on a stick.

If so ( I believe it was ) I was in the very quick Black R33 running head to head for the quickest of the day.

We posted the 1st sub 4sec of the day ( 3.98 ) and then got piped at the post by the Leyland cossie ... Which was very annoying as we thought the rules were it had to be a road car and driven to the event ! When they were running on slicks with a sequential g - box etc, and then they decided to do the feature on both the cossies, when it was supposed to be the fasted two of the day !

Anyhow - I think in that case I may have met you both !

Regards,

Paul

AB - It was actually my best friends cars, but I was loitering around as well !

Mostly this year the car will be doing some of the top speed stuff with the cossie boys and perhaps we are going to have a trip down to Monaco via the Alps !

The trouble is that launching a car that weighs that much by stepping off the clutch at 5500rpm, it tends to break things.

However since 2000 it has been converted to 2.7l and is pushing out 700bhp ( see www.gtr.co.uk ) !

Anyhow hope you have a **** hot night tonight, and stay chilled out with the op!...

Take Care,

Paul

In defence of Martin Hadland and his Reyland Cossie, that must have been one of the only events he's had it trailered to - he normally ALWAYS drives it to wherever it's going and runs it on road tyres.

It's not actually a rally car 0- and are you sure it's got a sequential box? certainly hasn't anymore?

I'd get some pics from the last one when i was there, but they were all a little dull.....

Craig,

I'm pretty sure it was the Reyland I cannot remember which of the two was the quickest, I may be wrong.

The one with the sequential box was super quick off the line, and it was in 3rd hitting 60mph so very short gearing. the gear changes were like a bullet and it was running 3.6ish, plus it had slicks !

The other cossie ( perhaps the Reyland ) couldn't get under 4sec and I believe was hitting about 4.2/3s - That didn't have a sequential box - So you may be correct !

I shall have to dig my pictures out when I get back home !

Regards,

Paul

the trailered car was Gareth lloyds escort with a sevens speed sequential box and ran a fastest time of 3.57 seconds. Martin Hadlands drove there I believe but his fastest was 4.07 due to wheelspin
Heres astra boy
and heres the 4 wheel drive times
