Default New to the Site ! WRX Import !

Well this is my first post, managed to swap my saxo vts for a WRX yesterday. The kid who had it origionally couldent afford to insure it but if anyone knows any of its history before he got it id be very intrested in it.

At the minute its got fully adjustable suspension, a few engine upgrades, blitz turbo timer and boost controller and a few other bits and pieces.

anyways heres some pics...

First plans are to tax and insure it... £1600 / 22 with 4 years no claims WTF !!

Remove thos back lights for standards and sort out the dump valve. for some reason its not dumping properly and the turbo is just chattering away. if anyone could post up a pic of a 1994-5 engine bay with a dump valve it wud be appritiated like.

Im new to all this turbo milarky need to learn a bit more before i go pulling it apart.

Insurance is a pain, try Elephant maybe, there good for me anyway.
I'd definately get rid of those rear lights too, genuine STi style (clear) lights would look better than standard.
I've got a 96 so sorry I haven't any pics of a 94-95 engine bay, do a search though cause theres bound to be some pics on here somewhere. Nice car by the way.

Cheers for the comments, well had am eventful day today.

Air con was squeeling so i cut the belt and ill remove the rest of it tomorow. that cured one noise. then the steering was squeeling... topped that up and solved that problem.

but the dumpvalve one im a bit pissed off about. it wasnt dumping properly so when ive taken the dump valve off ive found that the piston inside is completely siezed. ive had it soaking in wd40 and tried releasing it but its F**ked.

so looks like a need a new dump valve. oh joy lol. al post pics tomorow of the demolished blitz dump valve.

Sorry no Pics Rich but it would have been a "re-circulating" type as standard. You could try eBay & scrap yards for a cheap quick fix.

Cheers, The one that was on the car was an atmospheric one ( think thats how u spell it ) is a recirculating one fitted the same way or am i best off just buying a cheap atmospheric one ?

I removed all the air con today so all i have left to do is the dump valve then its ready to go.

A recirculating dump valve is fitted in a different way because the recirculating type of dump valves passes the spent air from the turbo-charger back into the intake system(making only a small noise as the air rushes through). If it had an atmospheric type fitted then I'd get another one of those in my opinion. Lots of new & second hand ones outhere. Just decide how much noise you want it to make first as some are dead quite, others mega loud!!
