It's only a car .... As long as the occupants are okay, that is more important.

I take it that was at a recovery yard ??
If so thats very bad that they are letting other people take pictures of a car that isn't theirs. Especially given that the reg plate is on show

OZ Super T 18x8 5x100 ET35
To stop the speculation it was the second 22b ever imported into the UK, the rear lights were swapped to get it through SVA (fogs), owned by the same guy from new (not me incidentally, but a very good friend of mine). No one was injured in the accident, but he is gutted at the loss of this car and would rather people left him alone about it, hence nothing being mentioned about what happened publicly.
So please respect his wishes and don't speculate, just mourn the loss of a special car, which did it's job and ultimately saved anyone from harm.

No, as with any car it can be put on retention provided that there is a valid MOT by the registered keeper, as it has been in this case

You say you had never seen one in real life till yesterday but it was owned by a very good friend of yours? If it was a very good friend of mine I would be round his house every weekend.

I think the OP and the good friend are 2 different people unless I've misread this thread
Gutted for the car, but glad everyone was okay. That is one hell of a mess

No chance. Chassis is well bent, and would need a reshell as the roof is twisted to. That will be a Cat A/B write off I bet. Can only be broken for parts

that will be a cat c write off and it will defo go back on the road by someone! The roof can be changed from virtually any classic shaped car so thats not a problem and copy wings etc can be sourced. Even the side can be taken from a normal classic shaped impreza. It will even be a cheapish repair.

Mate, I know from recent experience, mine was a cat b simply because the chassis was bent.
Cheap? I don't think so...
