Default Engine bay part 1

Decided to re-vamp the engine bay as i didnt like my chrome i/c pipes and hated the woen looking inlet manifold.

Before

After

Pipes wrapped and painted, header tank painted and alternator cover.

Tmrw will be inlet manifold, turbo inlet pipe and a damn good clean (if its not raining )

Can I ask a question about the header tank, I'd like to clean mine up a bit more, but means taking the top off, if I did so, would I create a mess, and have to top it up afterwards?

I just took the whole lot off. Pipe underneath and 3 pipes on the top. Rubbed it down, painted it and laquered it using high temp paint. then filled tank back up and made sure all the air was out

At the risk of asking a silly question, how are u supposed to make it air tight, cos it has a cap onto?. Is it all linked to the coolant system, so a top up of water+ coolant upon refitting?

once its all back on and topped up leave the cap off the header tank for a little while so the air can escape from the header tank
