Default Just had my car detailed...

and I am over the moon with it!

TyneTeesScoobies :: View topic - Mikkel's Sti Spec D correction and protection detail

I'm having the front splitter painted black at the moment, so that is to go back on soon. I'll post some more pics up when that goes on... then just some tinted windows and the styling is finished.

Anyone thinking of getting their car detailed and live in the North East area: Clearfinish - Welcome

It's a custom job, so the cost is dependent on what you need/want doing. My car was with Robbie, the chap who did the work for me, for 2 days. He's a mate and we did a deal, so no idea what it would usually cost to be honest.

I told him I am not one for spending hours cleaning it myself, so he chose the materials to use based on that. I'll be washing it and taking it back to him once or twice a year to work his magic

Lol yes I know, well spotted. Wasn't far to get off that though and I literally crawled off it and onto the tarmac. Tyres are now clean and not a mark on the car... thank the lord for mud flaps!

It's called the A-line lip spoiler, which is a Subaru part for the JDM equivalent (the A-line STI) to my Spec D.

Pleased your happy with it Mike, needs the splitter back on to finish it off now and it will be spot on mate.
The wax applied should last about 4 months or thereabouts so i'll speak to you about topping it up before then.

Out of the box, doubt it mate as the classic and newage bootlids are a very different shape. Having said that, there's nothing a good body shop can't do...

Yea thats a good finish there.. couple of questions, totally un-related to the thread.

- Do you have a part number for the lip spoiler??
- How do you find the new Goodyear Eagles??

Cheers,
Grant

Part No. E7210FE900 - nearly £50 cheaper than when I bought it now.
Much better than the RE070s. Just feel more confident on the Goodyears. They are also a lot quieter with regards to road noise. Thoroughly recommend them.

Brilliant, shall get onto my local Parts Dept. to see if/when they can get a lip spoiler and good to hear about the Eagles, as my F1s are starting to show a bit of wear so it'll be time to buy some replacements soon.

Grant

Don't forget you have to fill and paint the bootlid, unless you plan to buy a new one. I just had mine filled and the whole thing resprayed.

You also get a third break light for just inside the rear windscreen with the lip spoiler - doddle to fit.

You will have the second ever Spec D A-line in existence lol

Yea, planning to either run without a spoiler/lip or get the A-Line fitted too, so might just get the boot done, see what I think, and if its a bit bare, then stick the lip on.

Haha, Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec.D A-Line... thats quite a title.

Grant

I don't profess to be a car washing expert at all, but was just wondering.....wouldn't you normally do the wheels last? You did them first, and then just covered em in all the **** from the rest of the car when you washed it lol. I woulda thought starting from the top then working down was best? Also, while we're on the subject of me knowing nothing about washing cars.....what is the 'two bucket method?'

Cheers
