Default Show me your painted subaru 4-pot calipers

Based on what colours I have in the garage, I'm thinking about painting them silver with black coloured lettering

Anyone else done anything different... mine is a savanna green bug so I'm thinking red might not be right

BTW Wheels are std silver

So how do you get such neat lettering back on the calipers?

steady hand and patience. Its raised so it can be done neatly. Another method is to cover the letters with masking tape, then use a scalpel to remove the letters only, leaving the exposed letters.

I painted them red, then ran a file over the lettering when dry, which gave the white a better surface to stick to. That roller idea sounds much easyer!

i painted mine blue, thats what i had left from doing my 2pots and the rears were still blue so did the 4 pots blue.

left the subaru letterin alone,so its all blue.

i think any more paint on them and they will rub my wheels, the clearance is about 2/3mm at present !!!

mine were quite rough condition wise so it was hard to polish them up to smooth castging

Yeah, mine were very rusty on the backs mostly, used a small pin hammer to chip it away, then finished with a wire brush.Took ages!

do you have to use caliper paint or can you use hammerite as i have a full can of black and mine are desperate for a paint

i thought they had to withstand a certain temperature
