No cutting on mine mate, obviously just had to cut the fog cover and used black RTV sealant to seal in the stainless port.

Once that was done i had the lot painted.

Looked like this when i was making it.

you know those cheap bass boxes.. with a port in them..... well..
-remove the port
-cut hole in cover
-place port through hole
-jubilee clip from behind
-run pipework to filter

Thanks Frayz and Sarnyboy

I've picked myself up a P1 fog cover as thats ideal to convert to a cold air feed, I was hoping the port could be attached to the inside of the cover, as opposed to the outside (more of a flush look), just worried the piping is going to fowl on the metal frame behind the cover?

No issues with it sucking up water in heavy rain/puddles? Is the hose routed to the airbox inside the wing or to a aftermarket filter inside the engine bay? On a classic could you use the little grille under the indicator instead? Not sure where that goes to be honest though.

I ran mine previously directly into a sealed airbox with no issues in rain at all.

it dont matter if a bit of water goes up there, it will get vapourised before it hits the turbo anyways

i think the duct you refer to under the indicator is the one that feeds the brakes cold air?

So can you actually feel a difference when fitted? I guess you get a ram effect at speed, does the MAF/ECU handle it OK or is it best to have it mapped after fitting?

you wont feel any difference from it. if you remove the resonator box in your wing you will get more induction noise.
instead of drawing warm air from the engine you have cold air.
yes its just like ram effect.

Maf will be fine as the engine will still be drawing in the same amount of air only it will be colder.

dont need a remap for doing this but after all the other bits you do then get a remap, every little helps

If you feed the duct direct to the airbox that is sealed you will need a map as the air pressure inside the box increasaes with speed.

And yes it makes a noticeable difference in air temps measured at the MAF.

No mate the Prodrive edition bumper is completely different. To use my fog covers you would need my bumper too.

Cheers Kev

Just remove the inside Morrette Si. Better path and no cutting required

cheers frayz, got same set up as you had with pipe routing but now im putting on a front mount i think the pipe work will get in the way. dont want it to look messy so want to cover it up.
dont really want the mesh covers on there. was just thinking of different ideas

Do the FMIC Dave and paint the inlet port to match the car it will look subtle and less fussy.
