Default My first Scooby =O)

As i have been browsing this site for the last month looking for advice and reading the 'for sale' section, i thought i best post some pics of my scoob, had her just over a month now and im well impressed!

Its a standard 2004 WRX at the moment, wanted one with PPP ideally but this was the best i could afford Only addition so far is a prodrive back box, which, in both sound and looks is much better than standard!!

Future plans for the car include.... (as and when i can afford them)...

STI8 bonnet scoop + undertray
STI intercooler
VF/TD05 16g turbo
Bigger injectors
Uprated fuel pump
Decat downpipe (leaving centre section as is to pass MOT's and keeping the prodrive backbox)
ECUTek Remap

I hope with all of this to be around 300bhp if possible, although this may be unrealistic as im still new to scoobies!

Oh, and cosmetically, it will eventually have the STI spoiler and 18" multispokes on it!

- alot of saving to do me thinks! Should have just bought an STI, lol!

Hi mate hope your enjoying scooby ownership.
You might be able to decat the downpipe and still pass an MOT as there is a cat in the upipe on the newage cars too. (my mates did anyway)

Do a search on the TD04 hybrid, that might appeal to you more than a TD05 (less lag but still capable of 300+hp) that's the route i'd like to go down eventually.

It's too easy to spend on these isn't it!

Barndogg - 225hp standard.

yeah, the td04 hybrid maybe an option, ill be trying to get one off of here eventually so depends what is available!

I thought keeping marine fish was expensive, but its nothing compared to this! The best feeling ever though when i give it some, my hayabusa was fun but to have this power in a car....wow!

looks nice. i got 280bhp out of mine with a full decat green panell filter and walbro fuel pump! and a good mapper!!!!which is about as far as you realy want to go with the engine internals of a wrx.. Then spent on handling mods stiffer roll bars ally drop links and anti lift kit and the all important lazer allignment and uprated brake pads.. chasing 300 bhp on a wrx is a bad idea for your wallet and the engine.. just thought i'd mention it as i wouldnt want you to have to fork out for a new engine..have fun

No dpipe decat would fail with centre left in. A centre decat by itself would be ok for mot.

But forget that as a highflow sports catted dpipe plus centre decat will achieve more n still be legal for the mot.

How come places like PowerStation offer packages that do just that then? Surely they wouldn't if they weren't reliable?

Cheers for the comments guys, i can but dream hey!

280bhp would be good, i have heard even a PPP will make a noticable difference to the drive! So you would leave the turbo/injectors/intercooler then and concentrate on the exhaust/up/downpipes, fuel pump and a remap?

Cheers for all the help!

Nice car mate very tidy as for what to decat wise best setup would be decat up pipe with egr removed, decat centre and a sportcat downpipe keeps you legal and as good as a full decat nearly the ninja one is pretty good and cheap too, as for 280 horse most wrx with the full decat/sportcat a walbro 225 fuel pump panel filter and poss the sti intercooler will make the 280-nearly 300bhp and similar of torque amd the newage gearbox should handle this power fine unless being really hammered on track regularly,
take a look at my profile done pretty much what you put on your list with my old wrx(the one n the profile that i haven`t updated.)lol

hth mate and good luck don`t be affraid to ask loads of questions most peeps are happy to help and a lot of great advice on here. greig

Good choice. Can i be cheeky and ask how much you got it for, ours is up for sale at the mo and wondered what the going rate is, rather than the advertised prices you see.

Thanks.

Hi all,

Only just noticed this has been active since June!

Car has changed a bit now, the standard wheels are gone, it has the subaru 'swooshes' on it and has a full decat.

The biggest difference..... the remap, done by Dynamix, with a 10% mix of E85.... completely different car. Would recommend it, and Dynamix, to anyone!
