Default My girlfriend is mucky ....

well her calipers were
As a little treat for her, I decided to give her calipers a clean and paint. well that was the idea, but since the day was lovely and I had the time, I went a little bit further

This is what I had to deal with once the wheels were off. The usual sight of completely caked arch's, rusting calipers and disc bells and general mess greeted me .

Calipers were in a pretty bad way

Broke out the sandpaper, wire brush, brake cleaner and Meguiers Super Degreaser for the calipers and after a while they were looking better

Then tackled the arch's with a good strong brush and Meguiers Super degreaser and hosed it all down.
Once dry, I applied a trim cleaner and Blackfire Long lasting tyre gel.

Then I started painting the calipers and even though it is a fiddly job, I managed to get two nice coats of black on them and then did the lettering in white. quick coat of lacquer on them and job done

Final results

Disc bells and calipers all painted

And this what the arch's looked like after being cleaned and detailed. My girlfriend couldnt believe her arch's were actually blue underneath all the grime

Let's hope I get my just rewards later on tonight

Thanks guys and si you devil

Paint used on the bells was the same as the calipers...from ebay.
Though I have used black hammerite on mine before and it seems to work just fine with no peeling or chipping

Couldnt take them off aka frayz style and do them offsite as she needs the car today.
