A couple of products I just got from Polished Bliss - Meguiars degreaser and 303 aerospace protectant to finish it off.

oh sorry - start with a warm but not hot engine and I covered my alarm and the alternator. To avoid any stains to the wings I sponged some water with car shampoo over them. Sprayed lots of the degreaser over everything and left it for a few minutes. Repated and any bad bits i brushed with my wheel cleaning brush.
Sprayed again then rinsed with my pressure washer on LOW pressure. Fired the engine up and left it to dry for a few minutes. Got an old tee shirt ( didn't want to waste a good car cleaning cloth ) and dryed the stubborn bits off.

Any dirty bits left ( not much ) and the alternator I cleaned with some tar and glue remover and an old rag.

When dry sprayed the 303 over it left it a few minutes and buffed off with the trusty tee shirt.

Must say I am really pleased with the results. I've just bought the car and was embaressed when people kept asking to see under the bonnet.

So there you go........

I hope that you covered the alternator when you washed the engine bay, they cost over 700 quid and dont like water....

Good job and great results, I need to do mine in the next few weeks. Did you cover any electrical connections as marked below? If not isn't it bad if they get wet? That's the only thing that worries me.
