Cheers Chunk. My terminals are on top and not at the side like yours.

Looks neat though. Im in the process of making a polycarbonate clap for mine so i can stand it up and get my new secondary catch tank mounted alongside

Any more?

Mine is going on the N/S chassis rail against the bulkhead. I have had a nice deep tray machined from Acetal to hold it snug. Will post pics once fitted, tray should be ready tomorrow.

As promised...

I started by machining my own terminals as the one of the ones supplied was too small. Supplied terminals on the right, mine on the left.

Fitted.

Ok, the tray. Since i removed my A/C i wanted to mount my battery on the N/S chassis leg. Note the two 12mm holes in the leg and the M8 tapped hole (furthermost right). Ignore the filth, i didn't buy the car to win show 'n' shine.

I had the tray machined from Acetal. The holes around the rim of the tray are for a retaining bungee cord and associated hook. The picture shows the countersunk M8 bolt and dowels required to positively locate the tray.

Underside showing the dowels fitted (interferance fit).

Located on the chassis leg using the dowels and secured using the M8 bolt.

Battery fitted.

The tray is 30mm deep and has been machined to ensure a very snug so hopefully the battery won't go walkabout. Still have to string the bungee cord and extend one of the battery cables before final installation tomorrow.

I couldn't picture a nice way of clamping the battery where i wanted it mounted. Where are you putting yours?

More than likely in the OEM location but i will have a secondary oil catch tank mounted along side it.

I did consider moving it to the boot though... dunno yet.

Simplicity?

Some final pictures... tray fitted with bungee cord.

Looks like the cord is fit for purpose.

Final install.

Terminals connected, no need to extend any of the existing cabling either.

Finally, as i work away for up to two weeks at a time i've made a pre-emptive strike.

That will look once finished.

How are you going to secure the bottom part to the car?

Around the edges of the battery i assume? You should use a thicker piece of metal and hide countersunk bolts under the battery.
