Default Request - Decat Exhaust systems (vids if poss)

I saw (heard) a classic sliver scooby go past me again today and it sounded amazing, you could hear it coming(and thats a good thing, as it sounded lovely) not like a 1.2 corsa or something with loud exhausts lol

Has any1 got a custom exhaust on with examples with decat etc..?

As my import came with a HUGE exhaust pipe and 6" jap can, but it makes no noise at all!!!!

Please advise

Thanks

I have got a sound clip somewhere of my exhaust.
Admittedly its not a classic and not a decat, but if you want an aggressive sound then the Blitz R is awesome.
Mine is mated to a sports cat down pipe.

I have no idea ? I presume it is just a characteristic of the Blitz.

It very loud, my ears are ringing at the end of my 50 mile drive to work.

Here's mine, Hayward & Scott AB Vortex, de-cat centre pipe, and de-cat down-pipe, taken before I uprated the Turbo.

It was too loud for me! No longer on the car.

Revolution downpipe and Nur-Spec R, sound quality is a bit poor though, so best turn your speakers up

well its about £150ish for a decat downpipe, then say another £300 maybe for decat centre and back. unless you get something like the nur spec-r like me which was £300 second hand - £420ish on ebay new, but foooking worth it.

so about £500 for a decent system, ignore this pap on ebay, personally dont trust it myself.

maybe £20 for a downpipe gasket which may or may not need replacing depending on the condition of the other. may need new spring loaded bolts for the downpipe/centre fixing too, only couple quid. i personally used the old springs and a couple £0.50p bolts/nuts from my local car spares place.

£20-30 fitting by somebody competant.

adds up i know, but if you get stuff second hand in good nick, could be cheaper. personally custom for me isnt the best route, plenty of companies have spent a lot getting superb sounds from their systems to cater for a wide range of requirements. so custom may or may not end up how you want it to sound...

get a blitz its fooking ridiculous, just like i want it

not necessarily on a classic, although on full whack, you may over boost a little. i dont have that problem.

on a newage, probably yes, to do with the newer ecu i believe.

no worries. put it this way, run a decat downpipe, mated to a blitz nur spec-r centre and back. along with a bailets v.t.a.

i dont have boost problems, but if you did, a manual boost controller can do the trick if you dont want a remap.
