Painted calipers so far
Started to paint my brake calipers today. Went over them in 3 coats so they came up to a good finish. I didnt do the writing in white and in between the writing as i didnt want to mess them up and make them look tacky. I will wait until the red paint has completly dried before i do that.
I went to do the back after i had done the fronts but i couldnt get the wheel nuts off, after about half an hour trying They are cemented on and impossible to get off. Anyway here are the two fronts

What you could do is, paint all the caliper red then with a stencil cut out of the subaru bit, paint it white. Then follow the same step for the other side.

Just tell me if i am being thick, but......
When painting calipers, cant you paint the whole lot red, then when completely dry get a flat sponge and the white paint, dip the sponge in the white paint so you have a nice coat, then simply press this lightly against the lettering. As the lettering is raised away from the rest, it will only be the surface of the lettering which is coated?
Would that work or not?

An alternative...
You can paint over them in whatever colour - and then whilst paint still wet carefully wipe over the lettering and white bars with a rag with a bit of thinners on. The original SUBARU and bars above and below are quite good quality paint & it gives a more original look I think.
