no its defo a V5, i would assume sometime in its life the tight **** owner has had a front end bump and replaced it with V4 parts, to be honest i dont mind to much as is mostly going to be used on the track

here are a few pics of my engine strip ive been doing today on the last photo you can see that one of the big end was gone so bad it was starting to rub on the block!
also bought myself a 5 paddle clutch, stainless steel headers, every gasket is being replaced along with the oil pump and modine i had to buy a new bottom cam belt pulley and new cam belt covers should be back up and running tuesday as long as all the parts arrive

Interesting way to remove the engine/box! Always thought of giving it a go myself rather than the box from under the car/engine out the top.
Do you have to lift the shell very high to clear the top of the engine when it is on the floor, or do you have a car ramp?

lifted the car on a 2 poster ramp, undid everything drove forklift truck in under engine box and cradle, undid cradle bolts lower forks complete with engine, i kid you not we had the engine out and on the deck in under 1 hr but i think you would have to have a ramp to do it

alright mate tell me somthing i just bought my car was told it was a v5 sti ra v-ltd are these wheels and spoiler standard as i see yours has the same its just so wen i am insuring it i can say if they are the origonal wheels also my car has crystal headlights but not sidelights does this mean its not a V5?? cheers

i think yours will be a V4 on a p plate, does it have the later style dash?

also the v5 had the phase 2 engine,take a look at the top of the inlet manifold,if the coil pack is centre its a v4 if its offset to the right a bit as you look at the engine its a V5
