I think the euro hillclimb is vastly better than the UK short tight tracks.
You can get entries to some of the hills in the north of France, and some i know have tried them.
They were made most welcome.
Wouldn't a 'raid' from the UK to one be a great blast?
Graham.

Some of the French ones are 10+km long! They have 'proper' hills.

Then again the 'Time Attack' events are kind of filling a gap, albeit on the track.

I don't know how long that one was km-wise, but the fastest cars did times under 1 minute.. and it was quite tight too, similar to a vid of a UK hillclimb I saw on here a short time ago..
(maybe I should go to a french event then too.. )

Taking a 2 hour drive from Essex will get you to some UK hillclimbs!
Gurston Down by Salisbury/ Prescott Hillclimb by Cheltenham/ Shelsley Walsh by Worcester.
Those will get you going.
It is the sheer distance and the speed of these long climbs that are so good. Isle of Mann is long but a bit narrow?
To compete though aboad you will (I think) need an International race license (needs a medical) and some good clothing too.
Strikes me the cars there are far more radical than ours (in the tin-top classes).

OK: The vid i saw of a 22B (I think it was) doing the Mann meeting in late April this year just gave me the impression it was narrow.
Certainly looked great, and the night time hillclimb sounded really good. Pity the Impreza hasn't good lights...though my 911's are seriously lacking!
