Frayz, you know my thoughts on this.
I think it is because we, us brits, live in a country where people like putting altezza lights, WRC graphics, STi 8 scoops on classic Imprezas', common as muck makes of alloy wheels etc... on our Impreza. People just don't either know or can't see behond the 'what has been done before' and not try something different out of the ordinary.
Plus I think it is very hard to get some of those parts like Bride seats, Takata harnesses, Volks, Weds, Work alloys. HKS, Blitz, STi, Project Mu or Endless brake parts/components.
And I think if they where more easily available, not many people would buy them as that are quite a bit more money, than people here what to pay, even though they are far better products/quality than some of the aftermarket equiptment you can get over here.
just my 2ps worth.
Darren
That white STi looks stunning.

At the end of the day, its down to personal taste, some like spoilers, some like bumper spoilers, some like the Rally look and others like the way ot came out the factory.

over here most owners seem just to want to copy sti styling, as you say it takes ***** to run a wingless car...there are also quite a few more yanks than us so I guess scale has something to do with it too.
is there a big wing and splitter brigade in thats states are are most of the cars similar to this one?

White car is very smart! Theres a lot of scoobs in Oz, classic and newage rolling around without spoilers. Maybe by the end of the year/next year it will be seen more in the UK

For what its worth.. I'm in the US and drive a MY02 WRX. Everywhere I look, I see clean wingless JDM Subys. It's a great look, but I think its a bit played out over here. I've started to model my bugeye after some of the cars I see on this website. (V5 spoiler, Scott Lowe splitter, maybe even a "Euro" plate!!)
