Cool Goodwood FOS Friday photos including Prodrive Aston Martin accident

Here are my photos from Friday at Goodwood.

In the morning Paddy Hopkirk had a half roll in the mini and put it onto its side, fortunately there wasn't much damage.

Then came this accident The Aston Martin came past us with half the car on the grass and half the car on the road, he then lost the back of the car and hit the bales nearly head on another 25 metres or so further up the track before spinning to a halt It was the most violent accident I've ever witnessed and the front of the car looked like it exploded on impact. Fortunately the driver was uninjured but sadly a spectator got injured by flying debris, hopefully it was only cuts and bruises.

More tomorrow when I get back

Nice pics Paul....I was 1/2 way up the hill when I heard about the Aston...my initial thoughts were Nooo....not the Aston V8. Sorry to hear someone got hurt, hopefully it wasn't too serious...

It's the legacy charge cooler. The single turbo ones had charge coolers as standard.

The Aston Martin ended up right in front of me Must admit I took a few hasty steps backwards.

I can see myself in a few of Paul's pictures, so here's one back

That shows the damage to the passenger side of the car very well. I can't see myself though, I think I moved out of the way to let the guy with the pink shirt in

The driver was fine. Embarassed, but not hurt at all. Must have spun 2 or 3 times into the straw bales. He took a while getting out of the car, but he had to take his helmet off, put his shades on and run his fingers through his hair

Some good pics there chaps - I wonder how many were taken of the Toyota display? That's the most impressive that I've seen in a long time at Goodwood.

My pics from Saturday are here

Great pics Paul. That Aston looks hurt in a bad way. Such a sad sight.

Rest of the show looked great.
