how on earth do you make the bonnet transparent so you can see the engine.. i have just started using photoshop 7 been on digi mods it does not tell you

Take 2 photos in the exact same position, tripod is best, one with bonnet shut, one with it open, then create a new layer for the bonnet open shot, selecting the engine area only, paste this as the new layer. Then use the layers opacity to make it 'shine' through into the closed bonnet shot pic. You can then mess around with eraser to get differing effects and/or areas to mask etc, remove bonnet stay etc. Thats the simple way to do it anyway.
