Hi - cheers for pics - very nice - the car that i'm buying is a standard uk turbo 2000 estate but made to look like an sti.

is there such think as the 1999 my2000 sti estate?

Is yours one? or just standard wrx with bits on?

Did you remove the SUBARU badge from the back or is that what it came like?

cheers

no mate mine was a genuine Sti Wagon factory built. As Simon has mentioned the sti wagon did not come with the SUBARU emblem on the tailgate. It come with the massive sticker on the back which ive shown in the second post and which i finally removed from the car. If the guy is telling you he has a UK sti wagon then hes chatting yarbles.

Btw do you have a link to the car your referring to so we can check it out for you?

Thumbs up

Yep, agree with everything Kilo says. Another way to tell a fake STI from a uk car, is the genuine JDM's dont have the washers on the headlights.

heres pictures of my genuine JDM STi 5 wagon same as Kilo's.

I still have the standard Large WRX - STi graphic on the back as seen in the pics. Different years had different colour graphics and if was an STi had the same graphic with additon of the smaller STI logo as seen on mine also. These colours are the '99 colours, did see some info on colours for others but cant find it right now.

Hope these pics help

I have been tempted with all the engine troubles I have. but then its not right to land the problems onto somebody else, I have a concience. I have decided to keep and it will be a project wagon and get some serious plans in place over winter for it

thanks for that ill try them

the trim round the bottom of the bumpers & side skirts on the sti pics is colour coded - unlike the turbo2000awd which is black plastic.

Do these come standard colour coded or have people sprayed them?

Hey - that's my old car!

wtf has happened to the wheels?????

Just FYI - when I sold it, it was TEK3'd and was 315bhp 288 ftlb of torque with nice brembo's and a 3" full exhaust. Sold it about 18 months ago.

Was mint when I let it go. btw - its a UK Turbo, NOT an STi

It is a uk turbo - it was half badged up as a sti when i got it so i thought i might finish it off.. it's not like 99% of the population would notice the difference anyway....

but it pisses all over my previous 2005 sti

so BuRR it really is a good car - you did well - it sounds brill and very quick....

any idea what the 0-60 was when you had it??

i havent had chance to test it out proper yet.

any more history info would be appreciated. (just the good stuff)

if there is anything bad to report please im me

cheers

Tek3 is the term used for an ECUTEK remap custom to your car's mods

nice car mate but some words of advice,

firstly remove the big rubber bumper guard, makes it seem like a NA GL lol

then remove the silver SUBARU lettering from the tailgate

and finally, dont put the WRX sticker on.

The only reason some of us keep ours on is to make the car feel more genuine since ours come with them but in reality they look $hit.

Just keep the rear of the car debadged. Must say it does look very nice, probably the best green scoob ive seen

The TEK3 was a £600 modification that I'm sure a lot of people on here will agree is one of the best mods you can make to a car when fitting a non-standard turbo, fuel pump, reg, air filter and intercooler

Yes, it was a bit quick when I sold it and I'm sure it still is.
