Thanks for the comments guys.
Not sure how many laps Simon, a good few though. Another 80 odd so far this year with plenty more trips to come.
The arm out of the window was a thank you wave. That guy had been going pretty well in the people carrier thing.

Another one a little quicker this time, but still not a clear lap.

I enjoyed the traffic lap.
Do you think that your friend in the Impreza could have actually overtaken you? I know it's deceptive but he seems to let off the throttle in the some of the straighter parts of the track in order to stay behind. Could of course just be his braking points.
What does seem impressive though is the extra speed the pug carries through some of the corners while the Impreza is squeeling it's tyres and starting to understeer.
Are you faster in your pug than any other cars you've tried?

Rabid, yes the Subaru could of passed me. The driver is currently capable of at least 20 seconds less than me. His car does have 330BHP though.
The pug is good in the tighter sections whereas when it comes to the longer uphill sections its all about bhp something I have very little off. 127bhp to be precise.

I'm no expert having only done 20 odd laps but other than the hill after the Breidscheid entrance I imagine 130 or so bhp would be more than enough for me through most places.
Still my best would struggle to be much below 10 minutes I reckon. I didn't time any of the laps I've done as I read it's the best way to end up crashing.
Is the pug the best car you've driven on the ring is my main question. I've driven it in a MKII Golf, Impreza and a hired Focus (oddly the fastest I went round was in the hire car ). I keep thinking of getting a ring toy now I have better access to the Nordschleife, not so sure about a 205 though having owned one I wouldn't fancy the result of crashing one. I'm thinking of something more along the lines of a 16V MKII golf if I can find the right car.

The ring is very much a power circuit. There are a couple of sections where power doesnt count such as Hatzenbach and from Hohe Acht to Pflantzgarten but other than that power is important. Track knowledge is more important though
I have been round the ring in many cars and to be honest its all about what you're after. My Subaru was 30 seconds faster but dull in comparison to the 205. Where's the fun of harassing a GT3 in a scoob? Its much better doing it in a 205
My suggestion for a ring car on a budget would always be something german. It means any issues can be sorted locally as local garages and ring racing hold parts on the shelf.
