if i was a cat then i'd have 8 lives left
i'm a lucky lucky barsteward, i went to Long Marston ,jap racer day, for the weekend drag racing , on the wednesday prior to this i noticed alot of vibration on the steering so i had my balancing checked on the friday
front right wheel is slightly buckled and the balancing on all 4 wheels was well out.
anyhow, still went to stratford and competed on the sunday, terrible vibrations coming through the steering wheel and whole cabin, was rattling ME to bits
didn't beat my previous best of 12.666@109.28
my fastest was only 13.119@ 105.17
i put this down to the bad vibes(literally)
then i drove back home(torquay) today and coming past tiverton had a blow out
yup , front right , bugger really cuz the space saver won't fit over the brakes, so i had to put the rear right on the front and the SS on the rear
then drove home at 55 MPH
check this out
don't think tyre weld would've fixed that
just glad i was doing 'normal' speeds due to the vibrations

Looks like you were lucky. Probably down to the load rating of the tyre not being high enough. May be worth running higher pressures to stop them overheating.

they say they're good for 186 mph which is higher than toyo
i had released a fair bit of air at the drag strip cuz it was so hot, my times did improve marginally when i did this , spose i should have re- inflated them , didn't think tbh

Max speed isn't so much of an issue, it's a case of making sure that they don't overheat by flexing too much. Raising the pressures will help to keep the temperatures down when you're running at Motorway speeds.

yeah true , , but with all the vibrations going through the tyre it's hardly suprising it blew
just glad i was only doing 60 mph at the time
could have been alot worse

The Avon ZZ3 tyres are fine, if they are at the correct pressure, he has also said the wheel was buckled, this wont help a tyre what ever the make even if its balanced.
The Avons have a higher speed rating than the Toyos and i prefer them on a 4WD car than the Toyo's.

i did say that
previous tyres were toyo T1S , i did like them but they wore too quick for my liking , mind you, i do attend a few track days
i only got the avons cuz they were dirt cheap at the time , , i've now just purchased 4 toyo 215/40/17s for £55 each and there's none left now
still plenty of life left in the avons though so will wait to fit the toyos
