Thumbs up A1 GP Pics

Went down to Brands Hatch today for the first A1 GP. Great day out - thouroughly good entertainment. Few shots for you, quality and size reduce to make them a little easier to post.

This looked terrifying as the poor chap didn't get out for ages.

See you have plenty of pictures with the safety car in them.....

Having a press pass obviously helps

You wouldn't believe how many shots have a safety car in them

Press pass helps - gets you access to the paddock and media centre. I managed to get hold of a photographer's pass too which meant I could go pretty much anywhere

Swen6 - next one is in Germany. I reckon you could get a cheap flight (if you booked soon), hire a car for a day and buy a ticket to the GP, all for less than the cost of a grandstand ticket for Silverstone. Very tempting.....

It's also on sky sports that's cheaper still

Chris,

long time no speak - fabulous pictures - really excellent. Far better than the pics on the A1 site itself.

Careful - it's addictive. I added up what I'd spent in the last 6 months. Ouch....

I know, I keep hearing that.. I got my little Olympus as a stop gap to see if I got into taking photos and if so... upgrade later, if not... no big initial outlay lost... that was when I nearly paid £1000 for a 300D about 18-20 months ago.. to be honest I'm glad I did it that way - just need to start saving for it now

i only saw 2 scoobies in the car park and one as a safety car, it was a excellent race.
The audi safety cars they were quick and supercharged.
When that car flipped into the air and fell back down im suprised the driver wasn't killed :|
Did any one get shots of the Mercedes slr mclaren in the car park?
Every one was breathing all over it, i will post some pics soon of some of the cars i saw

WOW!! Great pics
I was down on Clark Curve all day (If only I'd have known you were there too)
What a great day. I've only ever been to track days at Brands, but the size of the crowd at such a great venue made it so much better!

Someone must have seen the stickered up classic wagon in the car park by Gate 3!!!

I managed to do the Jap show at Sandown on Sat and this on Sunday (Not a bad way to spend your 30th )

Smashing pics Chris, very very impressed. Care to share with me briefly what kit you've invested in?

Where in Germany is the next one? Might be interested... are you going?

Cheers

Power of the Internet Richard

Canon350D (or Digital Rebel - depending on where you buy it). Long shots taken with a Canon 70-200 F4 L lens. Closer stuff - the standard lens (18-55) that comes with the camera (UV filters on both). Also got the battery pack that holds two Canon batteries and a Canon Speedlite 430EX flash - very useful in the pit area.

Future buys? Not sure - would like a decent wide angle lens, but they are quite pricey and a nice 400mm would be good, but they're not cheap either! Ah well

Nice indeed! Actually I found it out not from the internet but by downloading your picture and having a look at the EXIF information .

The quality speaks for itself - watch out Josh Levy!
