not particularly TBH. its a fair bit of messing to get it right, and there is also a bit of work on the undertray and scoop to get the full effect.
you do all that, and its still not as good as a FMIC. if you are going for a bit of horsepower dont bother, mines got maybe 370-380 and the IC is not fully up to the job.

Mark, after having my WRX mapped by Andy F and speaking to him about the IC you and I both have then over 400HP seems do-able. He also said that on the move they are as good as most FMIC's.
Graham (911) had his at 407HP
What are you doing about the strut brace? Does the STI carbon brace fit or not?
Wayne.

have a butchers here mate. i know others have been fine, and i need to have a little look at the airflow again but im not convinced at the mo. had a little discuss with floyd the other day

the strutbrace does not fit, im currently making a new one. could probably get the sti one on with a bit of butchery but trying to avoid it. some bits of the car are a little bit work in progress.

bubba, i totally agree with you that the scoop looks an abortion, but trying to get the full benefit of the IC. if i put a FMIC on it will be straight off.
i rebuilt the engine in may of this year. while i was doing it, i also did the painting, cleaning, blinging up of the bay including the manifold and stuff.
the engine pics were taken shortly after that, but i do give it a clean regular and it still looks pretty much the same, even though the car gets used daily whatever the weather. it has 66K on now

all the brackets arond the engine bay i have powder coated black or silver. paint will be ok for this. all the bolts have been replaced with stainless, paint your pulleys if you dont want to splash out. just a bit of atention to detail goes a long way. when you have done, go mad with the CD2 and you wont be far off.
the manifold i painted myself, in fact ive not paid a bean to anyone other than for parts. the car blew up in april and was back on the road in june, during that time as well as building and tuning the motor, all the engine bay and installs were done. it was basically all standard before then, so it does not take long to get your engine bay tidied up.

firstly i was actually thinking of replacing the manky pully wheel things with them jazzy blue/purple ones,
Now regarding the pulling out of you engine, i believe you have experience in this before hand??
Ive always loved to have been able to pull out a subaru engine n play with it but it may prove a little costly if something goes wrong with mine as im not much of a mechanic.

Looks great, love the brakes and the engine bay especially.
Don't like the scoop, but see it's got good reason with the bigger intercooler.
Have you considered going over to the front mount(being as they are so bloody cheap now) You could prob sell your setup and get a front mount and it prob wouldn't end up costing much extra.
Nice work anyway!

FMIC is a distinct possibility, as the top mount seems to be struggling a bit. the brakes are 356 AP discs with alcon racing calipers.
FMS, cheers, i think

where did you get that alternator and power steering belt cover?
also, where did you get the radiator shroud?
very nice car, with extremely nice brakes.
